Photography Workshop Ottawa

Well, for some time now, I have been considering offering photography workshops. In all likelihood, they would be geared towards moms who would like to learn how to take better pictures of their children. Eventually, perhaps sooner rather than later, I may also offer workshops for aspiring photographers who are just starting out in the business. Sweet Baby "K"

This 13-day-old boy was just the perfect angel! With immaculate skin and sweet little rose bud lips, he just took my breath away! I am so honoured to have had the opportunity to photograph you today!

6 Day Old Angel

I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to photograph this sweet newborn yesterday. She literally did not make a peep the entire session! Not once! And she slept the entire time! Her proud new parents were wonderful too. They really embraced the whole creative process and helped us to achieve some beautiful images.

Mommies-To-Be Times Three!

I had a blast with these fun-loving mommies-to-be! They had such a great sense of humour, and really embraced the role playing! We then topped off the session with hot fudge sundaes! Ummm! No expecting woman can resist!

Little Guy

This little guy, as his mom affectionately referred to him, actually wasn't that little. At 8 lbs, 6 oz, he was a healthy and robust little fellow. And I was amazed by his alertness! He started off the session wide-eyed, as if with wonderment, but eventually sleep found him....and hopefully, later on, his new parents too! ;)

Exquisite Newborn

This little girl was definitely one of the most beautiful newborns I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. With a full head of wispy dark hair, porcelain skin, and perfect features, she just took my breath away! And at 3 weeks old, she was still a sleepy little babe, much to my delight!

Siblings

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing this little boy and his older sister. What a couple of sweethearts, and they were so well behaved! "J" and "M," I'm just sorry you live so far away. I hope you will come back and visit me next time you're in town. :)

6 Months

Has it really been 3 months already since "M's" last session?! Wow! Time is just flying by, and she is growing so quickly! Well, as you can see,"M" appeared to enjoy my "LOVE" letters as much as I enjoyed creating this storyboard for her. And does she not look adorable in her little tutu?! Baby girls just do not come any cuter than this!

And Baby Makes Four!

This lovely family braved our latest winter snow storm, and made the trek out to my studio this morning. Well, I am so glad they did! We were able to capture some beautiful images, which I hope they will be very happy with. And just when I had lost all hope that we had gotten many good shots of their adorable, "lightning fast" two-year-old, I discovered this gem (top). I think it speaks volumes, and I love it! Mom, this one's for you! ;)

7 Weeks

This pretty little girl was so alert and expressive! The first image, in the trio above, was from a series of close ups, shot with my macro lens. I really wanted to capture her sweet expressions, of which there were many! And it had been a while since I used my yellow flower blanket, but I had a hunch this l'il one would look adorable in it! And don't you just love those little piggies?!

Daddy And Me

This sweet little boy definitely felt safe in daddy's arms. Does he not look so cozy and comfortable? At 8 days old, he was, without a doubt, one of my favourite newborns to photograph ever! Not only was he incredibly beautiful, he slept so well for us too. He also curled up so nicely, and barely made a peep the entire session. I couldn't believe our luck!

Just Hatched!

This sweet little girl was such an angel. She was so good for us and slept almost the entire session! Gotta love that! At 10 days old, she curled up for us so nicely too, especially after a big stretch. And evidently, she was quite happy to be in my eggshell. ;)

Sleeping Beauties

Although I photographed these newborn twins on Thursday, they weren't quite as sleepy as we would have liked. Today, I was fortunate enough to have a second chance, and thankfully, it paid off! Thank goodness for on-location sessions and space heaters!

Beautiful Babe

Today's on-location, natural light session, brought me to the home of this sweet little 9-day-old baby girl. I knew I had the right address when I pulled up to discover a lovely array of pink balloons adorning the front door. Having two boys already, mom is overjoyed to now have a little girl. And there is no question she is going to love pink! ;)

Twins!

I was so fortunate today to have the opportunity to photograph newborn twins. Newborns are definitely one of my favourite subjects, so this was twice the enjoyment! I was so pleased that we were able to get the little angels snuggled up together. I think it reminded them of their former home. ;)

Oh, What Fun!

Oh, how much fun was this on-location, natural light session?! I thoroughly enjoyed photographing this beautiful 2-year-old girl, and her 9-month-old baby brother. She really seemed to enjoy the camera, and her l'il bro was just full of smiles. Gosh, I love that age! A photographer's dream baby! Oh, and those eyes!!!!

Baby On the Way!

This very happy couple is expecting a baby boy later this month. Mommy-to-be has a strong passion for photography herself, so it was wonderful to photograph someone with a similar artistic vision. I really love the dramatic lighting in the first image above....simple, yet powerful. My favorite kind!

Adorable!

Adorable is the first word that comes to mind when I try to describe today's 5-month-old and his 2-year-old brother. I had so much fun with these little guys! The baby gave me some of the cutest expressions ever, and big bro was super happy just to be playing with his trains. These images were among my favorites, but I can't wait for mom and dad to see the rest!
